During my abundance of sales jobs I spent hours, hundreds or thousands of hours dreaming about being my own boss. Every time I had to work weekends I dreamed of being my own boss. Every time I went a week without a sale (you try selling static caravans a Christmas) and had to have a ‘talk’ with my boss I dreamed about the day I would be self-employed, working for myself.

All the time I was employed and thought about being my own boss the things that motivated me were working hours to suit me, earning more money, taking more and better holidays and not having to listen to my Sales Manager get on my case and tell me how great he was at sales every time I didn’t close the sale.

I never really thought about the ‘what’ in the equation. Read more…
